According to UNESCO, Yazd City is the second historical city of the world after Venice of Italy. . Yazd is the capital of Yazd province in Iran, and a centre of Zoroastrian culture. Yazd province is neighboring with provinces of South Khorasan, Fars, Kerman and Isfahan. Because of generations of adaptations to its desert surroundings, Yazd is an architecturally unique city. It is also known in Iran for the high quality of its handicrafts, especially silk weaving, and its sweet shops. Yazd province is located at the Central Plateau. According to some other historians, Sasanian period, the command of the Yazdegerd I (329 – 421 D) was built here city with name of the Yazdan Gard.
